We’re super proud to announce that talented dancer, Isabella Bacon (Year 9), has qualified for the prestigious 2023 Irish Dancing World Championships in Montreal, Canada (2nd - 9th April 2023).
The event is the most elite level of competition for Irish dancers, and will see thousands of competitors descend upon Montreal from all around the world for a week's worth of solo and team competitions.
Competing against the very best Irish dancers from Great Britain in the U13 category, Isabella lit up the stage at the The Southern Regional Oireachtas Rince Na Cruinne on Friday 18th November, placing 7th after dancing three beautiful rounds.
Isabella who currently represents the Herlihy-Burgoine School of Irish Dance said: “was a nerve wracking but rewarding competition - I am looking forward to competing in Canada!”
Isabella has been dancing since the age of 5 and currently competes in Heavy Jig, Slip Jig and Set Dance categories; she also does Irish dancing with BGS students Arlana (Year 4) and Áine Cunningham (Year 7).
