Senior School Alumnae

On Friday 27th January, we were delighted to welcome back BGS alumna and talented artist, Mihaila Kuveljic (BGS 2016).

Mihaila delivered an inspirational talk to our budding BGS creatives about her experiences at school, her journey through university, to her current work as a painter.

Mrs Lugsden (Head of Art and Textiles) said: “It was really inspiring for current students to see what Mihaila learnt at school formed the cornerstone of her creative journey. We saw how her work has grown and developed, with the recurring theme of how a portrait interacts with the background coming through. We very much look forward to welcoming Mihaila back into school in the future to share the next steps of her exciting journey.”

Following school, Mihaila studied Fine Art at Oxford Brookes University. Fresh out of university, Mihaila was commissioned to paint a portrait of former Headmistress, Jo MacKenzie. The outstanding oil painting resides alongside other former Headmistresses from the heritage schools in the Senior School corridor. Most recently Mihaila has exhibited her work at MK Gallery.

You can view Mihaila’s work on Instagram here.
