On Saturday 10th June, a group of friends and I (Freya Arnold, Gaby Woodroffe-Gomez, Ariadna Whittle-Queral, and Alice Toone) took part in a muddy 5k run around Willen Lake, which was a beautiful location. It is known as the Pretty Muddy 5k that is organised by Cancer Research UK, and is held in locations up and down the country.
The mud was incorporated across the run through various types of random obstacles and tasks. The obstacles were so much fun and included climbing over inflatables, crawling under nets and wading through small mud pools.
I would really recommend this to everyone who wants to give back to the community and raise awareness, as it was very enjoyable and also an achievable aim for everyone (we did have to end up walking some of it). Overall between the five of us we managed to raise a total of £465 and we would love to do this again next year.
