The BGS PTA, The Association, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented member of our parent community to join our friendly and supportive committee as Treasurer.
As Treasurer, you will play a vital role in managing the financial affairs of The Association and ensuring the smooth operation of key events. You will have the opportunity to help strengthen the contribution the PTA can make to school life and be involved in establishing new projects and events.
This voluntary role doesn't require an accountant but it does need someone who is organised, has a reasonable head for figures and can use spreadsheets. The Treasurer also has overall responsibility for managing PTA funds.
Key responsibilities and requirements
· Oversee and maintain accurate financial records for The Association, including budgets, income, and expenses.
· Work closely with The Association Chair and other committee members to ensure financial compliance and accountability.
· Knowledge of double entry book keeping.
· Time – one-two hours per month on average excluding the Nearly New Uniform Sale events.
· Nearly New Uniform Sale – one-to days per sale to process ‘tickets’ update records and make payments, depending on the volume of transactions.
