Whole School

This week has brought exciting transformations to our school as our students are now reaping the benefits of the newly renovated Textiles Department and the brand-new astro courts in the Junior School.

Working in collaboration with regional architects TMV Architects, the contemporary Textiles department will enable our students to really flourish. The team of architects who previously led the cutting-edge iCreate space, the Cople Fields Pavilion, The Hub and Chequers Cafe projects, have developed functional spaces which have created a calm and creative environment for individual and group work. Throughout the year, we eagerly anticipate showcasing the incredible work our students will produce in these innovative spaces. View photos here.

Mrs Lugsden (Head of Art and Textiles) commented: “We were delighted to welcome students back to the new bright, airy and open plan Textiles studios. Rooms now have a contemporary feel, with dedicated zones for printing, sketchbook research and machine work. It has been a real thrill to see the students getting work underway in these reinvigorated creative spaces. The new Sixth Form break-out space is a fantastic addition, and has given A Level students a wonderful space to carry out independent research. The whole area exudes creativity, and I cannot wait to see the wonderful work our students generate with the guidance of our fantastic Textiles teachers.”

In the Junior School, we've renovated the old tennis courts, transforming them into state-of-the-art astro courts. These courts mark a significant enhancement for our sports department and especially the Junior School students who can now enjoy sports activities right outside their classrooms.

Mrs Mason-McLeod (Director of Sport) said: We are extremely excited about the newly resurfaced facility over in the Junior School. This will open so many more opportunities not only in the student’s curriculum lessons but also their co-curriculum clubs, with less need for movement between sites. There will still be many occasions where the Junior School students utilise the fantastic facilities in the Senior School but having more flexibility with this new resource will make a big difference.”

As part of our ongoing commitment to safety, we've also upgraded our fire alarm systems across the entire school as part of our scheduled maintenance program.

We look forward to a term filled with exciting opportunities, creativity and the pursuit of excellence. We can't wait to see our students thrive in these updated spaces.
