We are thrilled to announce fantastic recent results coming out of our co-curricular Dance and Speech and Drama departments.

It’s been an exciting summer within our Co-curricular Dance programme with our students developing their creativity ahead of their ISTD Modern and Tap examinations. In total, 21 students ranging from Years 3 to 10 achieved four Distinctions, 15 Merits and two passes. Congratulations to the following students: Durotimi Bey, Megan Barnicoat, Lia Ben Cohen, Cecilie Burton, Emilia Carrington, Leah Edwards-Vogt, Molly Hymen, Josephine Longmore, Sophie Morris, Jasmine Murray, Sarah Pepper, Tilly-Marie Pigram, Nancy Randall, Phoebe Scordellis, Eleanor Scordellis, Charlie Smith, Isabelle Sutton, Gemma Wallington, Nyah Wooding and Grace Zana.

In other dance successes, we are thrilled for Isabel Baker (Upper Sixth), who this year will be training at Advanced 1 level in ISTD Modern Theatre Dance. It has been several years since we’ve had a student reach this high level of vocational Dance and to do so, alongside the demands of her academic studies is truly commendable. Taught by Visiting Dance Teacher, Mrs Power, Isabel was also recently awarded Distinction with 95 marks for her Grade 8 ISTD Classical Ballet. We value and are so very proud of her achievements and her continued efforts and commitment within the Dance Departments at BGS.

Miss Bream (Dance Teacher) said: “These remarkable achievements in our Co-curricular Dance program reflect the dedication and talent of our students. We are immensely proud of their hard work and commitment to both their artistic pursuits and academic studies.”

There was celebration in the Speech and Drama department at the start of term as the latest LAMDA examination results were received. The students truly excelled and once again had record successes.

The Speech and Drama Department had a busy and exciting time at the end of the summer term supporting the over 120 students from Years 3 through to the Lower Sixth who were taking a LAMDA examination at one of the six sessions which ran across the two days. The students involved received an outstanding 105 Distinctions (with marks including a 98 out of 100 for a final Gold Medal examination) and 16 High Merits. View the full results here

Ms Smith (Visiting Speech and Drama Coordinator) reflected on the achievement: “Former Head of Speech and Drama, Mrs Redford, Miss Burns and I were thrilled to receive these fantastic results which are a testament to the students' hard work and dedication. We hope students and their families enjoy reading the examiners' positive comments about their ability to both communicate and perform. We would like to take the opportunity to wish those students for whom this examination represented the completion of their Speech and Drama Journey every success for their future.”
