With Christmas fast approaching, the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) held its annual crafts session during lunchtime last week. Students came together and spent a mindful hour making a variety of gifts using an assortment of recycled materials, including cards, trees and painted glass. The event was a real success, with our Year 8 students asking if they can sign-up for 2024!
Christmas would not be the same without a visit from Santa. The LRC was delighted to welcome him as part of our Class VR (Virtual Reality) Christmas. The students attended our drop-in lunchtime sessions where they experienced a variety of Christmas themed screenings, including the Northern Lights, a visit to the North Pole and an immersive Nutcracker experience where they took a first-row seat at the Ballet. Sessions proved so popular many girls returned each day.
Class VR is primarily an educational tool, used to support the curriculum, but it was wonderful to see it was also able to support our non-curriculum calendar just as successfully, offering an engaging and uplifting enrichment activity for all year groups.
