On Tuesday 30th January, the BGS cross country team delivered outstanding performances at the Cross Country Partnership District event.
Competing against various schools across the county, 24 BGS athletes spanning from Year 6 to Upper Sixth took to the muddy trails at Sharnbrook Academy.
The longer course for this event had perfect conditions with calm weather and good-to-soft ground. The athletes produced fantastic individual results in their age group categories, including a top podium finish for Pippa Blakemore (U13), Penny Adams (Junior Girls), Jessica Parrish (Intermediate Girls), and Rosie Foster-Glennon (Senior Girls).
By finishing in the top 16 in their race, 11 BGS athletes have qualified to represent North Bedfordshire at the County Championships at Ampthill Park next week. Congratulations to the following students: Lottie Ayers (Year 6), Pippa Blakemore (Year 7), Anna Trueman (Year 7), Anna Quirighetti (Year 7), Larissa Brown (Year 8), Penny Adams (Year 9), Bella Holt (Year 10), Rosemary McGregor (Year 10), Isla Renfrew (Year 10), Jessie Parrish (Year 11) and Rosie Foster-Glennon (Lower Sixth).
We are so proud of all the athletes who have represented the school's cross country team this term. It takes true grit and determination to succeed in this sport and they have all shown this in abundance.
