By Ms Rogers (Learning and Resources Manager)
On Thursday 7th March, the whole school community celebrated World Book Day with vigour, excitement, and enthusiasm. From Winnie-the-Pooh to Mary Poppins, Little Red Riding Hood, and a host of Mr Men and Little Miss characters, the staff and students filled the corridors with a wonderful selection of literary figures. Whole school events, such as World Book Day, allow the Junior and Senior School to come together and unite in our love of books.
Activities held throughout the day included our outstanding Borrowers-themed lunch organised by our Green’s Kitchen, the Eco-Club Book Swap, the Junior School decorate-a-bookmark lunch club, and a garden treasure hunt and game activities in the Senior School LRC.
In the lead-up to World Book Day, the LRC promoted a design-a-bookmark competition. The winner, Emily Pinkney (Upper Sixth), provided us with an outstanding entry that will be the official library bookmark for the remainder of the year.
Final thanks go to our families whose hard work and effort in providing, making, and sourcing all the amazing outfits we saw on the day allowed this to be one of our most successful World Book Day events. Thank you, as ever, for your wonderful support.
