Outgoing Head Girl, Tash Miller reflects on her time of leadership: “The past year has been truly amazing and such an honour. Despite going incredibly quickly, it’s been packed with fantastic opportunities and exciting events. I have particularly enjoyed working with the talented GLG to increase awareness on important issues, such as gender inequality, and celebrate our community through events like culture day. Not only have I been surrounded by this brilliant group of students, but I have also been supported by the excellent staff who share our enthusiasm; which has made my role this year extremely enjoyable.
“On behalf of the current GLG I would like to congratulate Tania and the rest of the incoming GLG; we wish them the best of luck for this upcoming year. It will be such a rewarding experience, with so many opportunities to look forward to. I have no doubt that they will have great success in whatever they plan to do.”
Incoming Head Girl, Tania Chatterjee said: “I am absolutely elated and feel very privileged to be the new Head Girl. It is an honour to be given this opportunity and I am confident that we, together as the GLG, can make an impact on the school and our community.
“I joined BGS in Year 4, and since then I have always looked up to the GLG, especially the Head Girls. I have always enjoyed seeing how their ideas have shaped the school and developed it into the nurturing community we know today. I hope to have the same positive impact, be a role model to younger members of our school community and inspire them in the same way past Head Girls have inspired me. During my time as Head Girl, I want to encourage the values that have been instilled within me by the previous GLG; building confidence in ourselves and our identities, being able to challenge our peers yet lead with empathy and kindness. I am looking forward to getting started and continuing the incredible work of our previous Head Girl, Tash Miller.”
The formal changeover will take place after the Easter holidays with the incoming GLG assuming their roles at the start of the Summer Term.
