By Miss Bentley (PE Teacher)
On Saturday 11th May, students from Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 travelled to the Belle Vue Arena in Manchester to support our Head of Netball and Manchester Thunder Goalkeeper, Miss Huckle, in a Superleague Netball match against the Celtic Dragons.
The atmosphere was fantastic from the moment we arrived. Students gave Miss Huckle a huge cheer when she was introduced onto the court, and the support did not stop there. Manchester Thunder went on to beat Celtic Dragons 63-44, keeping them at the top of the table.
Emily (Year 8) commented: “The netball trip was so much fun and we all loved supporting Miss Huckle. It was a really nice way to get to know new people that you don’t usually talk to and have fun supporting our teacher. It was so cool to have the whole Manchester netball team sign our things and we can all say it was really inspiring to watch netball played at that level. Well done, Miss Huckle!”
Ava (Year 8) added: “It was really interesting to watch Miss Huckle play with her teammates. We learnt a lot and I am really happy I got this opportunity.”
A truly inspiring experience for all of the students to see Miss Huckle competing live. All of the BGS community would like to wish her luck for the remainder of the season!
