A huge congratulations to talented artists, Ella Quirighetti (Year 9) and Harriet Yuille (Year 8), who have been selected to have their work hung at The Higgins Gallery for the summer exhibition.
The biennial art competition, organised by the Harpur Trust, is open to all schools across the borough. The judging took place last month, during which around 100 pieces of children’s artwork in various categories were selected to hang in The Higgins Gallery. Additionally, three prize winners will be selected from each age category (ages 11-13 – Years 7-9).
This year’s theme is Together for Bedford. We’re also pleased to announce that Harriet has been shortlisted for a prize in her category.
Mrs Lugsden (Head of Art and Textiles) reflected: “It has been great supporting Art Club students with their creative research over the last term in the lead up to this competition; I am very proud of all of them for their hard work and dedication. We are delighted to have work make it into the Higgins exhibition, and special congratulations go to both Ella and Harriet; they have both worked very hard to develop their pieces for this competition, and I look forward to seeing them on display in the gallery.”

The exhibition will then open on Saturday 29th June to the public for the entire summer until Sunday 8th September where hopefully everyone will get a chance to visit.
