Junior School Diversity and Inclusion

By Mrs Woodhouse (Year 6 Teacher)

In response to a recent assembly on Afro Hair, one of our pupils, Shanice (Year 6), took the initiative to create and deliver an informative presentation to her class. Her enthusiasm shone through as she shared valuable insights about the history, culture and care of Afro Hair. This presentation was especially meaningful as it coincides with Black History Month. By sharing her knowledge, Shanice not only educated her peers but also honoured the cultural significance of Afro Hair within the Black community.

Shanice provided 6W with a wealth of information and engaged her classmates by confidently answering their many questions. This presentation has helped foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for the beauty and diversity of Afro Hair.

We are incredibly proud of Shanice for her initiative and the positive impact she has made in her class. Her efforts exemplify the values of confidence, knowledge and inclusivity that we strive to instil in all our pupils. Well done, Shanice!
