Whole School Alumnae

This week, we’re delighted to spotlight BGS 2013 alumna, Sophie Winter, whose inspiring journey from a degree in Hospitality Management to co-founding the UK’s leading fitness retreat showcases the diverse paths our alumnae take after BGS.

After earning her First Class Honours degree in Hospitality Management at the University of Portsmouth, Sophie joined a graduate management scheme with a corporate catering company, where she spent a very enjoyable four years. During this time, she embarked on her own fitness journey, which sparked a deep passion for health and wellness, leading her to co-find a business with her partner, Tom, called 1st Class Bootcamp.

Over the last three years since launching the business, they have become one of the UK’s leading fitness retreat organisations. They have hosted retreats in a variety of locations, including Ibiza, Norfolk, and California. The company have been recognised for their work in Women’s Fitness Magazine, The Stylist, and various other outlets, and have had the pleasure of welcoming numerous celebrities.

Sophie said: “Our retreats are truly transformational, helping guests not only to change their physical appearance but also to shift their mindset and embrace a healthier, happier lifestyle. It’s incredibly fulfilling to combine my background in hospitality with my passion for health and fitness, and I’m so proud of the positive impact we’re having on people’s lives.”

We love to hear all about the different routes our alumnae have taken since leaving school.
