Netball Sport

Following the gold winning success of England netball at the Commonwealth Games, our Years 5 and 6 netball girls were out in force to watch Wasps vs Team Bath and support Miss Huckle (Head of Netball and Goal Keeper for Wasps Netball). The girls were also chosen as guard of honours and mascots for the day.

Anna Whomsley (Year 5) enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere in the Ricoh Arena, she said: “Before the match started, some girls were lucky enough to be mascots and others were the guard of honour waving bright Wasps flags as the players came onto court. We felt very privileged being there surrounded by an amazing atmosphere. Wasps played an extraordinary game with brilliant power and speed. We came away feeling completely inspired. Thank you to all the PE staff for taking us and congratulations to Miss Huckle and her team.”

Isla Wallwork (Year 6) was excited at the prospect of being chosen as a mascot with 13 other girls. She said: “We had a team talk with the Wasps Netball coach Tamsin Greenway and then got ready to enter the Arena. I ran out holding the hand of the team captain, Hannah Knights. We ran under the guard of honour with all my friends waving their Wasps flags. It was very exciting and I was very grateful to be part of this amazing trip.”
