Drama and Dance Junior School

On Thursday 5th and Saturday 7th July, 23 girls from Year 6 performed in a stage adaptation of Helen Creswell’s classic children’s novel Moondial adapted by Peter Darney.

Many weeks of rehearsal culminated in sell out performances and the girls rose to the occasion performing with maturity, sincerity and a real sense of ensemble. Their commitment and enthusiasm were impressive and their professional approach both on and off stage was commendable. They immersed themselves whole-heartedly in the production process, learning about every aspect of bringing a performance to life on the stage.

Fleur Doyle-Fisherm, who played the character Tom said: “I love my character Tom and I will definitely miss him. There were so many amazing people that helped with the set, makeup and hair, such as Ms Gardner - in charge of costumes and scenery – and Miss Elsom, the technician. I really hope that everyone else has enjoyed Moondial as I did.”
