On Thursday 4th October, our second lacrosse team took on Haileybury School's first team in an after school fixture.
The first five minutes of the match saw Haileybury score five goals with BGS unable to reply. However, the momentum began to change towards half time when BGS started to build some sustained possession and began to put the Haileybury Goal Keeper under some pressure. With a 5-0 deficit at half time BGS had a small mountain to climb in the second half. BGS were determined to narrow the gap and played a magnificent second half scoring four goals in the first two minutes to bring the score back to within one goal.
Although Haileybury scored again, BGS replied with two, to finish the match with a 6-6 tie. Emily Allen (Upper Sixth) played brilliantly in defence creating turnovers, Harriet Potter (Upper Sixth) was dynamic in attack and Emily Edwards (Year 11) was player of the match with her brilliant shot placement and prolific scoring in the second half.
