Congratulations to Rhiannon Douglass (Year 7), who has received the most improved U13 cricket player award from Bedfordshire County Cricket. Rhiannon received her award at the Bedfordshire County Cricket Girls presentation evening on Saturday 6th October.

Rhiannon said: “This is my second year of playing U13 County Cricket for Bedfordshire. This year I have also captained for the U11 team and the U13 team.

“I got into cricket because my mum and dad love cricket and we always played in our backyard. I started playing club cricket three years ago and have been playing  County Cricket for two years. I love batting, bowling and fielding, I bowl leg-spin.

“I also enjoy cricket because you get to meet new people and make so many new friends. The atmosphere during matches is always electric, it is always great hearing the cheers of support from the sidelines. This year, I also got the chance to be a mascot for Middlesex Cricket in the T20 Blast match, and got the opportunity to walk on the Lord’s Cricket ground for the toss.”
