Last week, talented cyclist Sophie Lewis (Lower Sixth) lined up against Britain’s most decorated champions in round one of the Elite Women’s Tour Series (Thursday 9th May).
Representing cycling Team OnForm, Sophie competed in the individual 1.4km event circuit in Redditch, Worcestershire, she said: “Being the youngest in the field and racing against some of the top female cyclists in the country meant that the race was really challenging.
“I was pleased to stay with the front group for most of the race, but then unfortunately I dropped off towards the end and finished 19th, beating many full time cyclists.”

Sophie is currently part of the Great British Cycling Team Junior Academy Programme.
The programme is focused on developing the country’s best junior riders, ensuring that they are ready for life as full-time athletes. Sophie has been selected to represent Great Britain in the Girls’ Endurance category.
