Congratulations to Catherine Chaplin (Year 7) who recently won the U13s national tournament with Hitchin RFC.
Catherine's team played six matches over two days (4th-5th May), won four, drew one and lost one match against some very capable and tough opposition. By the end of the weekend, there were plenty of bruises but many smiles as Hitchin RFC lifted the trophy as overall winners for the second year running.
Catherine began playing mini tag rugby six years ago and has progressed through to the U13s girls team at Hitchin, where she has been playing full contact in the front row position for a couple of years now.
Although the rugby season has now ended, she will be competing in touch rugby throughout the summer, which is a faster paced but less physical version of the winter game!
