Senior School Hockey

Mr Mason-Mcleod (Head of Hockey)

Last week students in Years 11 to Upper Sixth had the pleasure of hosting and playing hockey against St Albans College (Colegio San Albano) from Buenos Aires, Argentina. 18 hockey players arrived to the school on Wednesday and enjoyed watching the senior lacrosse teams in action. They then left with the nine host families for a fun filled evening of meeting the girls and eating out at a local pizzeria.

On the Thursday, the Argentinians enjoyed a day out in Cambridge with their staff, before returning to the school to play our First team. The match was competitive from start to finish, with the BGS girls impressed by the Argentinian players skill level and commitment. The game finished 6-2 to BGS. Both teams enjoyed some post-match food and selfies to remember the wonderful match before returning back to the host families for their final night.

On Friday morning, we said goodbye, with all the girls saying what an excellent experience it was and hopefully making lifelong international friends.
