Last Friday lunchtime, the Service Team had the opportunity to host the first Lunch Club of the academic year. The Lunch Club allows the elderly visitors to interact with people of a different age group, as well as take part in quizzes, a raffle and listen to musical performances, all of which were greatly appreciated by everyone.

This year, the Girls Leadership Group has chosen to focus on the topic of Respect as our campaign. We believe that the initiative is an extremely important part of the Service Team’s work as elderly adults are at a higher risk of being marginalised by society; all the Lunch Clubs are a valuable way for us to engage with and support members of the elderly community in Bedford.

We look forward to hosting more events like the Lunch Club in the future as we have been told that the visitors take delight in chatting to the girls and taking part in the activities.

In addition, on Saturday 30th November we will have a stall at The Association Christmas Fayre, hosted in the Assembly Hall at BGS, so come along to visit our stall and support our school charity, FACES.
