On Wednesday afternoon, Suzy Wimbourne (DAHS alumna 2008), a wedding photographer and entrepreneur, delivered an engaging Lunchbox Lecture for the Bridge Careers Department about working in the digital art industry.

Suzy described her journey from studying art at the school to becoming a successful wedding photographer, with an extensive portfolio and following on social media. The talk reiterated the importance of networking, persistence and seizing opportunities.

BGS students from Years 10 to Sixth Form were able achieved a broad understanding of the photography industry as well as an insight into Suzy’s experience of being self-employed. Suzy talked about her time at university, work experience in America and the opportunities for travel that her career presents. Several BGS students expressed an interest in pursuing work, which used digital mediums and were able to ask Suzy questions about digital design.
