Mrs Hoar (Challenge and Extend Coordinator)

Exciting Sixth Form news! This week, as part of our Challenge and Extend opportunities here at BGS, we launched the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) with our Lower Sixth students.

The EPQ is a fantastic independent learning opportunity that allows girls to research an area of their choice, culminating in a 5000 word written evaluation or an artefact product. With support, guidance and co-curricular taught lessons throughout the year, students have the chance to explore and study something that they may be interested in, but is not necessarily in the school curriculum.

Every year, we have a superb and diverse range of dissertations, topics have included investigating the gender pay gap in the world of business and evaluating how the UK Government is addressing obesity in children. We are looking forward to working with the students as they share their initial ideas over the next few weeks.
