Mr Potter (Director of Digital Strategy)
On Wednesday, the Year 10 Computer Scientists visited the University of Buckingham for a session with the Dean of School, lecturers and students.
The group investigated cyber security, and more specifically how encryption and key exchange works when you want to send messages and files over the web. They then went on to look at image processing and coded a filter to find ‘salt and pepper’ (black and white) pixels, which could degrade a photograph. Once found they coded an algorithm to remove and replace these pixels with those of a similar colour to clean up the image.
Our thanks go to the University of Buckingham staff and students who are working proactively to encourage more women and girls into Computer Science.
