Congratulations to Year 10 students Alexandra Gentry and Charlotte Parnham, who both performed tremendously in the prestigious, international Immerse Education essay competition, and who were awarded partial scholarships for the Immerse Education summer residential courses, awarded to only a small percentage of entrants.
Alexandra commented: “I entered the Immerse essay Competition to try something I’d not done very much before - writing academic essays. I found the question particularly interesting; in computer science we have far fewer students than in other classes and I loved researching around the topic to find out why. Entering helped me learn to research and write up my findings in a practical way, and I’d definitely recommend entering the competition to anyone interested in one of the topics!”
Charlotte said: "I chose to write about the subject because I have been interested in creative writing from an early age. I thought the course looked amazing and it would be good to challenge myself."
