On Saturday, students from the Junior and Senior Schools produced outstanding Speech and Drama performances at the Northampton Festival of Performing Arts, winning every class entered. BGS entered a wealth of talent in the verse speaking and verse duet categories.

The students were thrilled to be able to present their work to a live audience and received excellent comments from the adjudicators Rebecca Vines and Cally Foster.

It was so rewarding to see them rising to the occasion despite not having had very many face-to-face lessons and meeting the challenges of the competition with determination and skill.

Cally Foster said: “After the disappointment of the Coronavirus cancellation last year, the return of the Northampton Festival for the Performing Arts last weekend was a triumph in every way. From the diligence of the COVID secure preparations by the Festival Committee and the delightful Deco venue through to the wonderful performances of all the Entrants - it was a pleasure and a privilege to be adjudicating once again at NFPA.”

Aleena Azam was awarded the Jackson Cup for Entrant Endeavour and was commended for her involved performances and her efforts to improve her work. Well done to all the talented students.
