Miss Perri (English Teacher)

On Friday 25th June, Year 7 had a jam-packed day celebrating the wonderful world of Shakespeare. Students first attended an arts and crafts session where they made flower crowns to complement their Elizabethan outfits, and wore them at their lunchtime Elizabethan banquet. Students enjoyed a delicious, traditional feast and accompanied by musical performances from Mrs Everitt, Mrs Hoar and Miss Davies.

After lunch, students were treated to a performance from our Lower Sixth students of an outstanding interpretation of a scene from A Midsummer Night's Dream. Having been thoroughly entertained, students then took part in an Elizabethan dance workshop. The sports hall was full of lively enthusiasm.

The day was finished off with an assembly where prizes were awarded for our Shakespeare competitions, as well as awards for Best Dressed and Star Dancers.

Reflecting on the day, one of our students said: 'I thoroughly enjoyed Shakespeare day! My highlight was the banquet - as the assembly hall was beautifully decorated and it felt lovely and all magical.

There were so much other things too like; the flower crowns which were so beautiful and exciting to make. Overall I loved Shakespeare day and I would love to say a big thank you to Miss Perri!'

With special thanks to The Events Genie for providing such wonderful décor!
