We’re super proud to announce that Helena Nicolaides (Upper Sixth) has gained a partial scholarship on one of Immerse Education’s summer courses.
The Immerse Education Essay Competition provides the opportunity for students aged 13-18 to submit essay responses to a pre-set question relating to their chosen subject. The advantages of doing an essay competition like this are learning skills like referencing, time management and the technique of writing an essay.
Helena said: “I thoroughly enjoyed writing this essay titled, What would a world without Mathematics be like? I was intrigued by the question because of the variety of different directions I could take with it. I delved into the meaning of what mathematics is, which was interesting because in A level maths there’s always a right or wrong answer, whereas this maths question doesn’t have a definite answer. This has been a great opportunity for me because it has developed my referencing skills and has widened my view on how fascinating mathematics is.”

We are extremely proud of Helena’s achievement, and wish her every success for the summer programme.
