We are proud to announce that BGS has won the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) County Tennis Education Award for the second year running.

The LTA Tennis Awards celebrate the achievements made by outstanding individuals and venues in tennis throughout the past year, from grassroots tennis to elite performance. Throughout the pandemic, the school has embraced restrictions with successful changes to its early morning tennis programme in a partnership with Riverside Tennis Club.

The school provides curriculum and co-curricular tennis lessons for all students from Years 3 right through to the Upper Sixth. This year, BGS entered the LTA Schools Youth Competitions for Years 7 and 8 and Years 9 and 10 and had superb performances reaching the regional round in the older age group.

This win also means that BGS has been put forward for the LTA Regional Tennis Awards, which will be announced during April.

Mrs Bullerwell (BGS tennis coach) said: “We are delighted to win this award once again and we are proud of all our students who attended coaching and adhered to our COVID policies during the height of restrictions. Thank you too to our dedicated team of Riverside coaches who continue to support our tennis programme.”
