Last week, our Upper Sixth Form students Velvet Few-Wiegratz, Georgia Spencer and Amy Wallington alongside Miss Nelson (Art and Textiles teacher) and Miss Boston (Head of Grounds) were delighted to plant a gifted cherry blossom tree on behalf of BGS.

Situated at the front of the school, the tree was gifted through the Sakura Cherry Tree Project, which has seen more than 6,000 cherry blossom trees planted in schools, royal parks and public spaces.

BGS are delighted and proud to take part in the Sakura project, and we are honoured to be one of the locations chosen for this international campaign of friendship. Japanese cherry trees are renowned for their spectacular display every spring and the saplings will form a colourful canopy to welcome the BGS community.
