Last Friday, 7CRS boldly tried out a new skill after a very rainy-day scuppered plans for their normal wellbeing walk. The students took their first steps in mastering a 3-ball cascade, learning how this skill comes from practice, automaticity and reflection. They needed to carefully compare their throws with those of their slightly rusty instructor, Mr Stretton (Teacher of Classics) and adjust and learn as they went.
A good time was had by all and the students are keen to develop this handy skill further, particularly given its use for mindful reflection and relaxation.
Mrs Cruse (Head of Years 7 and 8) said: “Wellbeing is a fundamental part of the ethos for Year 7. We use the Five steps to Wellbeing and being active is one of these because it helps to raise self-esteem and also helps all students have a clear and positive outlook. So, if it rains and we cannot go on our wellbeing walk, tutors like to think of imaginative ways to carry on with being active.”
