The Year 6 celebrations continued on Monday evening with a pizza and quiz night fundraiser for United World Schools (UWS) that was organised by the Junior School Captain & Prefects.
The evening gave the girls an opportunity to make some final memories together before leaving the Junior School. There were lots of smiles, chatter and laughs as the girls enjoyed spending time in the Sixth Form Common Room. A big thank you to everyone that helped make this event happen; a total of £175 was raised. Good luck to the Year 6 entering the Senior School.
Anna Mathew (Junior School Captain) reflected: “It’s been a privilege to be the first Junior School Captain and so far I have really enjoyed working with my team and the Juniors themselves. My team and I have the responsibility to support the Juniors ambitions and raise any interests they have. For example, at the start of our roles we asked some Year 6s what they would like to see and they requested a leavers event which is why we organised the Pizza and Quiz night on Monday.
“We have also worked with the teachers and the library for a picture book programme which involved us explaining key meaningful concepts of particular books which they would explore further in their lessons. Furthermore, we have worked with the Junior Leadership Group where we helped guide their own lunchtime quiz where they successfully raised money for UWS. As well as this, my team and I share the ambition to act as role models to the girls, like the ones we have had throughout our school experience. My team and I can all agree that seeing the Juniors have fun and grow in confidence is why we enjoy our roles so much.”
