Over the past few weeks, the Upper Sixth Business students have been preparing for one of their A Level exams by emerging themselves in the UK Car Industry. This started with Mr Parker (father of Millie in the Upper Sixth) coming into school to talk about the industry and current trends. The talk made us think about the move to electric cars/ hybrids and the impact this will have on all aspects of the market – second hand cars, maintenance, battery life, charging etc.
Eloise Kingsbury (Upper Sixth) said: “I found it very interesting learning about the direction in which the car industry is heading in the future through the viewpoint of someone within the industry, from the use of electric and hybrid cars and the implications on the government's revenue as well as the possibility of lorries and buses being fuelled by hydrogen.”
This was followed up with an immersive day out to the BMW MINI factory in Oxford and the Silverstone Interactive Museum on Wednesday 22nd February. The Upper Sixth students reflected about their exhilarating day, read their reviews here.
