The BGS community are wishing the best of luck to talented Irish dancer, Isabella Bacon (Year 9), who is vying for a medal at the prestigious 2023 Irish Dancing World Championships (An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha) in Montreal, Canada (2nd - 9th April 2023).

The event is the most elite level of competition for Irish dancers, and will see thousands of competitors descend upon Montreal from all around the world for a week's worth of solo and team competitions. 

Isabella will perform two routines on the first day in Montreal and is aiming to be recalled back to day two, when only 30% of the dancers get the opportunity to perform two routines again followed by an individual dance, Isabella who currently represents the Herlihy-Burgoine School of Irish Dance said: “I am really excited to have the opportunity to compete in the World Championships in Montreal. This is my first World Championships and I am looking forward to the opportunity to dance on the World stage in front of our family and friends, who will be coming to support.”

Isabella recently placed 2nd in the Girls Championship at the Maguire O'Shea Feis in London in March. Isabella has been dancing since the age of 5 and currently competes in Heavy Jig, Slip Jig and Set Dance categories; she also does Irish dancing with
