The last few weeks we have seen some fantastic sporting success within the BGS community. Olivia James (Year 7) representing Cambridge City in the England Hockey National Finals. In their first game, they unfortunately lost 2-1 to Surbiton HC, then beat Morpeth HC 5-1 and Fylde HC 1-0. Olivia and her team then played Beeston in the 3rd/4th Playoff and won 1-0.

Lucy Nissen represented Hertfordshire U15s in the Eastern Counties Hockey Finals, Hertfordshire were crowned U15 champions on goal difference from Essex.

In cricket, the first team triumphed against Oundle School in the second round of the T20 Cup. BGS had a great start with first team captain, Amelia Barrow Jones, scoring 35 and Head Girl, Tash Miller scoring 42. BGS finished on 132 after their 20 overs. Unfortunately, rain stopped play with Oundle on 71 after 11 overs, with Esme Challacombe and Rhiannon Douglass both taking two wickets each. This resulted in BGS winning with a higher run rate.

Olivia Fox, Bella Holt, Poppy Clarke, Grace Briers and Hatty Parry also represented Beds/Hunts GU15 Development Cricket team on Wednesday against Kimbolton School. Kimbolton set Beds/Hunts 103 runs to win, which Beds/Hunts scored with an over to spare.
