Despite the rain, the enthusiasm and excitement of our Years 3 and Year 4 girls was evident as we made our way to Bedford Prep School on Tuesday 4th July for the much-anticipated collaborative Summer Sports Afternoon.
The warm welcome we received from the energetic boys and friendly staff marked the beginning of a wonderful day. The girls were thrilled to be a part of the event and eagerly took part in the various activities planned for the day.
The Sports Quiz proved to be a hit among the girls as they collaborated with the boys to solve the challenges. It was truly inspiring to see the extent of their knowledge about famous athletes from different fields and the rules of various sports. The children's enthusiasm and willingness to participate showcased their passion for sports and their eagerness to learn.
However, the highlight of the day was undoubtedly the relay race. The children formed teams and competed in a series of events, including bouncing the ball, sprinting, and relay races. The atmosphere was filled with cheers and encouragement as the girls and boys pushed themselves to give their best performance. It was a great opportunity for the children to showcase their athletic abilities and enjoy some healthy competition.
To add to the excitement, the Bedford Preparatory Parents' Guild generously provided ice-lollies for the children. The refreshing treats were greatly appreciated and added an extra element of joy to the day.
Despite the rainy weather, the Summer Sports Afternoon turned out to be a memorable and enjoyable event for everyone involved. The girls left with a sense of accomplishment, having showcased their sports knowledge and skills. The camaraderie and spirit of friendly competition among the children made the day truly special.
