By Mrs Martin (Head of Year 3)
On the last Monday of term, Year 3 was a display of inspiration, as our classrooms were transformed into a living canvas of historical and contemporary icons. Dressed as their chosen significant person, our girls brought these characters to life, showcasing their significance in our world.
The day revolved around the exploration of why certain individuals are remembered, the ways in which their legacies endure and the profound impact they had on the world. The classrooms buzzed with excitement as younger versions of iconic figures justified their choices, providing insights into the reasons behind their admiration.
The event showcased the depth of the girls' understanding. Research translated into presentations that not only recounted historical facts but also explored the lasting influence each significant person held. For a day, the girls embodied the wisdom and influence of their chosen figures, bringing their legacies to life.
As a finale to our Unit of Inquiry Exploring “The past, shapes our future”, the day served as a meaningful reminder that learning evolves over time. As our Year 3 girls progress, we aspire for them to realise their potential, contributing positively to the diverse fabric of human history with their unique stories.
