By Mrs Schofield (Head of Year 4)
The Junior School girls have been spending some of their Form time, learning about the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Our Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) representatives have shared videos of personal experiences, and information about why Muslims choose to fast at this time. Some of our Junior School girls are also fasting, and it is so helpful for their peers to understand why and support them when they need to. The classes have decorated crescent moon shapes with colourful patterns and used this time to reflect on their lives and talk about things they are grateful for and wishes for the future.
Rachel Gedye (Year 4) said: “I am grateful for my family and I wish all wars would stop.”
Emma Morris (Year 4) added: “I am grateful for my friends, family and school, and I wish everyone has a loving family.”
Many girls are looking forward to attending the BGS Iftar event on Wednesday 20th March 2024. After the sunset prayer, our community is invited to join us for a relaxed gathering where we can share a meal together in a friendly atmosphere.
