Following the success of our Sixth Form TikTok account, led by Liv O’Dell (Upper Sixth), we're delighted to announce that Lower Sixth student Annabelle Cooke has taken up the helm with the support of Morgan Forbes.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Liv for the hard work she has put into the account and we wish Liv all the best with her journey after BGS.

The Edit sat down with Annabelle Cooke (A C) and Morgan Forbes (M F) to talk about their new role.

When did you join the BGS Community?

A C - I joined BGS in 2017, as a Year 6 student.

M F - I joined the BGS community in Year 5.

How did you get involved with the new BGS Sixth Form TikTok?

A C - I was thrilled to be offered the opportunity to co-run the BGS TikTok, and am excited to engage with the multiple opportunities that arise with running the account. For example, this opportunity enables me to actively promote not only the BGS sixth form, but also the exciting events that are offered to the students by both the SLT and the Wellbeing Committee, of which I am a Wellbeing Committee member.

M F - As someone who’s always been interested in theatrics and the creativity that comes with social media, when the opportunity to be involved with the Sixth Form TikTok page, alongside Miss Duckworth the Admissions and Marketing Assistant and Annabelle came up, I was more than willing to be involved.

What are you looking forward to about running the TikTok account?

A C - I am a very creative person, therefore I jumped at the chance to come up with creative and engaging ways to promote BGS’ Sixth Form and its outstanding facilities. Additionally, I am looking forward to having the platform to promote BGS from a students perspective.

M F - I’m honestly most excited to be able to showcase the magical atmosphere and community we have here at BGS and have the responsibility to promote and highlight this from a student’s perspective.

What skills are you hoping to gain from running the account?

A C - I hope to develop my creative thinking skills. This involves me thinking outside the box in order to come up with innovative ideas, which bring in wider audiences and effectively illustrate the lively BGS sixth form experience and its welcoming community.

M F - I feel a big skill I’ll gain from running the account is confidence.

How are you going to use the TikTok account to showcase BGS Sixth Form?

A C - I will aim to post a variety of TikTok’s which focus on the different aspects of being part of BGS Sixth Form. Ranging from our aesthetic facilities to certain events which are run to give students a break from the demands of A-Levels and IB Diploma, and have some fun.

M F - I intend to use the TikTok account to emphasise how incredible BGS is and particularly our one of a kind Sixth Form.

What are your aspirations for when you leave BGS?

A C - When I leave BGS I want to go into a somewhat creative career, potentially Architecture or Interior Design. The skills that I will learn from running this account and the creative freedom that I have been given will aid me in my future career.

M F  - I plan on going to university to do a Criminology and Philosophy degree hopefully followed by a year of Law conversion.
