On Saturday 15th June, five girls from Year 6 travelled to Sheffield for the ESSA Primary Schools' Team Relay Championships at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield.

BGS qualified for the Championships last term at the Regional event in Watford and all of the Year 6 swimmers have been training hard in the pool since to secure a spot on the team.

The freestyle relay team consisted of Izzy Morris, Lottie Tillison, Daisy Rees and Amy Jeavons, and the medley relay team was Lottie Tillison, Evelyn Brown, Daisy Rees and Izzy Morris. The teams put in a fantastic effort and they achieved PB’s in both of the events.

It was a fantastic day with the swimmers who were really positive and excited. We’re looking forward to seeing them develop further and racing again next year in the ESSA Secondary Schools Championships!
