On Monday morning, the Service Team led a whole school charity assembly, highlighting the importance of our global charity, United World Schools (UWS), as well as Bedford School’s Movember campaign.
UWS is an inspiring global organisation dedicated to making quality education accessible to students in underserved communities worldwide. The assembly aimed to deepen students' understanding of the significance of our fundraising efforts, with a particular focus on the work of our Partner School in Cambodia. In rural areas of the country, access to education remains a challenge, compounded by the lasting impact of the civil war in 1975.
We were also delighted to welcome four students from Bedford School, who joined us to share the mission of the Movember campaign. Movember raises awareness of men’s mental health and suicide prevention, as well as prostate and testicular cancer.
Its distinctive symbol, the moustache, represents the campaign’s tradition of participants growing facial hair throughout November to spark conversations and promote the cause.
To show our support, donations were collected at the end of the assembly to contribute to the fundraising efforts.
