This week, the Junior School marked World Kindness Day on Wednesday, 13th November, alongside Anti-Bullying Week, which focused on the theme Choose Respect. Through a variety of activities, our students took part in small acts of kindness and respect, helping to strengthen our school community.
Pupils were given Bingo cards with simple tasks such as giving a compliment, inviting someone to play, helping with work, holding the door open, and writing a kind note. Over the week, students were encouraged to complete these acts of kindness quietly, ticking them off on their cards as they went. Teachers and students shared moments of kindness they had noticed around the school, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere. Discussions were held about how it felt to complete the tasks, with students sharing some of the acts of kindness that stood out to them. This activity served as a reminder that small gestures can have a meaningful impact and that kindness is something we can all practise every day.
On Tuesday, pupils were invited to wear colourful odd socks as a way of celebrating differences and individuality. This fun activity helped to reinforce the message that everyone should feel comfortable being themselves, free from bullying or judgement. It was a simple but effective way to support Anti-Bullying Week and encourage respect for one another’s unique qualities.
These activities provided our students with the opportunity to reflect on the importance of kindness and respect in their daily lives.
