After the fantastic success of last term’s events, ACT! ’24, Les Misérables and the always entertaining Staff and Sixth Form Pantomime, we’re excited to share our upcoming programme of Dance and Drama events for the new year.

The term begins with a special theatre trip for Year 8 students to see Ballet Shoes at The National Theatre on Tuesday 28th January. This timeless classic promises to enchant and inspire our students.

In February, students in Years 10 to Upper Sixth will head to Soho Place to watch Kyoto, a play that explores themes of identity and belonging. Later that month, our Upper Sixth students will demonstrate their creativity and performance skills in their Text in Performance NEA on Thursday 27th February.

As March approaches, Music, Speech and Drama will take part in the Bedfordshire Festival of Music, Speech and Drama, showcasing their talents in a range of categories. Meanwhile, Year 11 students will present their Texts in Practice NEA, and our annual Speech and Drama Concert on Wednesday 19th March will feature an array of monologues, duologues and group pieces.

Dance takes centre stage in May with A Step Beyond, an inspiring showcase of our students’ talent and energy, followed by Lower Sixth’s Devising NEA performances on Wednesday 14th May, which will feature original pieces created by the students themselves.

In June, Year 6 pupils will immerse themselves in The Big Year Six Devising Project, a journey of imagination and creativity culminating in performances from Thursday 5th to Saturday 7th June. Drama continues with the Year 10’s Devising NEA on Thursday 12th June.

To round off the academic year, Years 7 and 8 will perform The Worst Witch from Thursday 3rd to Saturday 5th July, a magical production that promises to entertain audiences of all ages.
