BGS’ U11A netball team beat some of the top schools and clubs in the Midlands en route to winning the Warwick Prep School tournament.

BGS took both A and B teams to Warwickshire on Saturday (4th February).

The A team played four group matches, winning three and losing one to progress through to the semi-finals against Warwick Prep. After squeezing past the hosts 8-6 after extra time, the girls dispatched of Matlman’s Green School 6-4 in the final.

The B team also did the School proud. The girls played five matches, winning two of them.

Mrs Howlett, Deputy Head of Sport, said: “Both teams progressed with their overall game play, and made visible improvements both as individuals and as a team. 

“The semi-final was particularly tense when having to go to extra time, but the girls have mature heads on their young shoulders and didn’t let the nerves or pressure get to them.”
