It is the time of year when we bid goodbye to the Upper Sixth: for the IB girls it is ‘well done’, and for the A Level girls it is ‘good luck’ as they go off on study leave and prepare to sit their final examinations. A celebration brunch in the Common Room is followed by a farewell assembly, and at lunchtime a BBQ lunch and the annual staff-leavers Rounders match.
Last year, memorably, the Upper Sixth Leavers filled the library glass room (almost) full of balloons in a gesture of celebration and spectacle to mark their last day of school.
To mark their own last day of school, the Leavers of 2017 have gathered a collection of bras, which they have transformed into bunting to decorate areas of the school. Importantly, the girls wish to spread the word about CoppaFeel! – a charity dedicated to heightening understanding in young people of the importance of having a self-check regime. The charity also seeks to remove any stigma and the girls’ bra bunting has certainly done that!
We wish the girls all the best and look forward to their Leavers’ Ball.
The inspiring campaign also caught the attention of BBC Three Counties, view the video here.
