On the International Day of the Girl, Wednesday 11th October, ten Lower Sixth girls had the privilege of attending the Girls' Schools Association STEM conference STEM Solutions towards a sustainable world in Cambridge.
At this conference, the girls experienced a wide variety of engaging talks from many inspiring women, who specialised in a range of roles in the male dominated field of STEM.
Arti Katechia, found the conference inspiring and said: "it was an eye opening experience, I am now determined to pursue a career in chemical engineering despite the stereotypes of society. I found the talk from Yewande Akinola convinced me that this is what I want to do; she persuaded me that I can achieve this goal through hard work and determination, if I do I can overcome any challenges."
