Our Year 4 girls enjoyed a thrilling, witty and captivating performance of The Jungle Book by Jessica Swale at the Royal & Derngate, Northampton on Wednesday.
The play is a vivid new adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s family classic for the stage. A wild and funny tale of family, belonging and identity, this production is full of memorable characters, new songs and brilliant storytelling.
Our girls were immediately gripped from beginning to end. The innovative construction of the set, with ladders and ropes suspended from high and a central rotating stage, allowed the actors and musicians to create a sense of speed and height during the show's most dramatic moments.
Maisy Fraser in 4F loved the production and said: “It was brilliant! I really liked the wolves, how they acted and their costumes. I liked that it tied in with our theme of rainforests.”
