Many congratulations to Roisin Scanlon (Year 5, pictured) and Georgia Staroscik (Lower Sixth) who produced fine golfing displays at the USKids European Golf Championships (29th – 31st May) and SE Schools Championships (1st June), respectively.
Roisin had an amazing week of golf at the Royal Musselburgh Golf Course (6th oldest course in the world) in Scotland.
Competing against the world’s best young golfers, Roisin shot -1 on the first day and level par the following day. On the final day she shot -3 to finish the tournament on -4, placing her second overall. On the last day, she made an incredible seven birdies and one eagle.
A superb role model for budding golfers at BGS, Lower Sixth student Georgia secured her spot at the South East Schools Championships after securing victory at the Bedfordshire Ladies County Golf Championships back in May. She placed 5th overall in the tournament and has been selected to represent the South East team at the NAS/UWT National Championships (24th - 25 June) taking place at the Shire Golf Club London. This is effectively the England Schools trials for the forthcoming internationals. BGS and the wider community wish Georgia and Roisin the best of luck in future tournaments.
