On Wednesday 8th November, our much-loved and eagerly awaited annual Scholastic Book Fair arrived at BGS. The foyer of Randle Hall was filled with beaming smiles and chants of “The book fair is here!”, “I love the book fair!”

This ‘pop-up’ bookshop gives the girls the opportunity not only to purchase new and award-winning titles, but also to gain an understanding of what’s popular in the world of junior fiction, to develop a love of books, and promote reading for pleasure.

We would like to thank the girls and you, their wonderful parents, for supporting this year’s sale. The Scholastic book fair allows us to earn rewards from sales, which can be exchanged for library books.

We estimate that we will add around 150 new books to the Junior School library as a direct result of the success of this year’s sale. This ensures that the library continues to be a place of inspiration, joy, and knowledge – the heart of the school.
